Personal space seems a thing of the past there. I'm sitting comfortably at my desk by the window and watching a young house sparrow food begging. Homer and I camped out in Rucker Canyon this past weekend where a couple of white-breatsed nuthatch fledglings dropped out of a tree onto my shoulder and then to the ground, practicing their flight. Your account of the quest for food, the close conditions, and air quality make me appreciate my little adventures all the more. I really admire your er...courage. What an amazing experience for you both and how perfect to be in the company of your dearest love through it all.
